Fever With The Green Tea

Sometimes my love for life distracts me
when I burn ideas in my socks,
and keep on going where i'm lead
Oft-times I make the worst mistakes
but, I sleep with lights under the pillow
and I make it safe

I'm older than I remember
I cared too little for nature
and in my absense,
all the animals died out

Gorillas from Tori
Polar bears lived with Sally
hamsters died they
ate wood chips
french names and rare b-sides

Maybe I need an extension
a reason to put my loss behind
even though I'm nicely placed & groomed
Everytime I come back here
the leaves chastise my feet
and remind me not to leave

I've got new tides waiting
in the wings
I built them up north,
now i'm ready to fly
